Fun Fact #1: The Green Hornet (Britt Reid) is the son of the Lone Ranger's (John Reid) nephew. The Lone Ranger is Green Hornet's great-uncle. Heroism runs in the family.
Fun Fact #2: There was a Legend of the Lone Ranger movie released in 1981. Entertainment Weekly has a great article about it.
My dad took me to see the movie. We got there early, and so they let us wait in the theater while the movie was still showing for the previous audience. We watched the end of the movie before we watched the beginning, and then watched until the end again.
[Apparently this was common in the early days of the cinema. You would pay for your ticket, and just go in to the theater no matter what time the movie started. This was not common in 1981.]
I remember enjoying the movie (I was ten). Apparently, it was a big flop. There were many empty seats when we saw it. I find it strange that I've never even come across it on cable, or in a DVD bargain bin.
I don't plan on seeing the new movie at the theater. Who knows... If reviews are kind, I might just change my mind. But, seriously, Johnny Depp? Seriously?
