Very early Pink Floyd with the late Syd Barrett. From the album Saucer Full Of Secrets "Interstellar Overdrive Part 1"
My first "real" concert was Pink Floyd at Ford Auditorium in Detroit.A high school buddy and I, both 17, had purchased tickets for a Deep Purple concert that was ultimately canceled. We were given the option for a refund or to see a band called Pink Floyd. They were on tour of America promoting their "Meddle" album. The concert was performed in Quad, the only time I'd ever hear Quad live. and it was amazing. The band had just completed, but hadn't released, a record called "Dark Side of the Moon" which they played in it's entirety. We were the first in the world to hear this ground breaking record.
Vertical asked me to join his blog as a guest expert on "Nuggets" era music... Psychedelic, Garage and Fuzz. Are there others more qualified? You bet, but they weren't asked. He's also letting me write about anything I want… We'll see.
